BRANDING A NEW WAY FOR MUSIC LOVERS TO CONNECT


Ursa is a new digital platform that allows fans and artists to get together in a natural and unscripted “peer to peer” online environment. For the launch of the platform, Ursa needed to develop a brand that conveyed the immediacy and “real-ness” of the connections between artists and their fans.

We established the design vision, identity and launch assets for the new brand, centered around the unique and interesting ways Ursa connects artists and their fans. In this emerging environment of digital meet-and-greet, authenticity, intimacy and spontaneity are all foundational pillars reflected in the Ursa brand identity.

Crafting the Brand

For all customer-facing collateral, the driving force for the brand was Ursa’s commitment to reinventing how artists and fans connect.

Brand Identity & Visual System Design

Establishing a distinctive brand positioning in an emerging entertainment space was key to setting the brand up for future success. We led design for the identity and launch assets, applying our design principles to web, mobile and social.

The brand mark is adaptive, meaning it shape-shifts in different environments ~ creating an energy and sense of life that mirrors the dynamic interactions fans experience on the platform. The logo can be used as a screen, with video inset into the oversized, block letterforms. The color palette nods to night lights of global cities, celebrating dive bar culture and aesthetic. Colors like Electric Indigo, Wisteria Strobe and Celestial Blue provide exclamation against neutrals and event imagery.

Our rebrand helped launch Ursa into an exciting new arena of live music entertainment, helping them create meaningful connections with artists and fans around the world.

Cross-Platform Web Design

With digital platforms as the primary connection point, Ursa needed an engaging, effective and differentiated presence across mobile and web that would inspire fans to book tickets and discover new artists. We created an adaptive website with immersive media to capture attention and encourage action.

Offset graphics create a compelling overlay effect alongside organic wave illustrations that hearken to brain wave activity while listening to music.

Featured artists range from established to emerging including such talents as: Lillie Mae, Jaime Wyatt, Chaos Chaos, Debi Nova, Jarrod Lawson, Ruthanne, Alyssa Miller & Suzanne Santo.
